Five Ways To Style Your Media Room

Five Ways To Style Your Media Room
06/2021

Introducing the Media Room – A Multi-purpose room that grows with you

The One Bedroom + Media Room and Two Bedroom + Media Room apartments at Mason & Main are the gifts that keep giving. With the flexibility to change and style the space as often as you need, this multi-purpose room will be with you through all stages of life.

The team at Mason & Main collaborated closely with global leading architects, Woods Bagot to design a room that adapts to your changing lifestyle. Tracey Wiles, Leading Architect at Woods Bagot, explained the development of the media room,

“Our research into the future trends of living and working led us to design a flexible apartment with a multi-purpose room, which can easily shift from a bedroom to a workspace, a creative space, or any space you need thanks to built-in joinery. Well-designed spaces change along with your needs, facilitating growth and adapting to change over time.”

With the option to include a murphy bed, study desk and optimal storage, the media room goes from being a simple area to a highly functional and usable space.

To showcase the endless possibilities this room has to offer, we invited interior design experts, BOWERBIRD Interiors to style the Two Bedroom + Media Room Display Apartment at the Mason & Main Project Gallery.

The team decided to get creative and show five different ways to use the media room. Keep reading to see their amazing transformations and you may even come across some styling tips as well!

  1. 1. Guest Bedroom

The media room can easily be transformed into a guest bedroom, with the optional feature of a pull-down murphy bed and built in storage.

Having the flexibility to turn this room into an additional bedroom will also add greater value to your property in the long run.

Let’s also not forget the key to an excellent guest bedroom is versatility! With the option of including a study desk, this becomes a great space to bunker down and get work done.

  1. 2. Kid’s Bedroom

A child’s bedrooms can be a difficult balance to strike – you want to create a sense of fun that grows with them as they mature.

The BOWERBIRD team kept things fairly pared-back as anyone with kids knows how easily things can be cluttered! Adding storage such as baskets makes tidying toys easy.

3. Rumpus Room

Whether you call it a rumpus room, ruckus room or playroom, the important thing is having a comfortable and cheerful place for kids to play.

If you add a low-lying seat and even more storage – everything is kept in reach for the little ones. Plus, the neutral styling means it can be converted to a teenager’s study later in life.

4. Study

With the future looking more flexible, a space that can be turned into a dedicated home office is more critical than ever, and yes, that does mean no more interrupted zoom calls!

The media room can be turned into the ideal home office, giving you the work from home space you need. When styled with calming furniture and ultimate storage for work materials, you can maximise the room’s potential as the perfect home workspace.

5. TV Room

Finally, say goodbye to the dilemma of fighting over what to watch on TV with a second room to kick back in and watch the box.

An occasional chair is compact enough to fit into the space without sacrificing any comfort. Adding other decor such as a side table and potted plants creates a relaxing vibe for when you want to chill and watch Netflix, read a book or even do a crossword.
